Performing Arts Among Houston's Diverse Populations
I photograph the performing artists who preserve aspects of the many cultures in Houston for several reasons. As I've explored the customs of many cultures, traditional performances and ceremonies have become one of my main interests. Also, it is extremely difficult to make good images of moving and unpredictable subjects. Artists practicing traditional dances or modern performances make good practice subjects and coordination exercises for me in the same way that soccer or basketball is good practice for a sports photographer.
