   LACY ON CURRENT PROJECTS:

Land of Enchantment

New Mexico has always been my primary source of cultural education. Its history and diverse people today make it a very mysterious place. In the busy world of Southwest art and culture, I doubt that I'm making unique historical records that haven't been made by dozens of other photographers, but I am always on a personal exploration of the people and places in this historic land. New Mexico is the first place I began traveling to for its educational value and the first subject I began teaching. The photographs I am able to make there are, in some cases, my personal journal, and in others, the tools I use to teach.
