Spring Traditions of New Orleans
March 16 - 20, 2011

Explore the spring traditions of New Orleans, including St Patrick's Day parades, St Joseph's Day altars and the Mardi Gras Indians. Tour the French Quarter and historic districts, and dine in distinctive local favorite restaurants.

Chiricahua Mountains Adventure
May 28 - June 4, 2011

Hike in the Chiricahua Mountains, with its unusual volcanic rock formations, and travel across Cochise County among other "Islands in the Sky". Visit the historic communities turned artist colonies of Bisbee and Tubac, as well as area museums.

Camp Chaco, Mesa Verde, Colorado
June 25 - July 3, 2001

Serve as a guide for Houston area students who have received scholarships to attend camp in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Chaco Culture National Historical Park and Mesa Verde National Park. Tour Santa Fe and Colorado's San Juan Mountains.

Washington DC Smithsonian Tour
July 6 - 12, 2011

Tour the Smithsonian Institution's many museums and galleries, including the American History Museum and American Indian Museum, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall, as well as other historic sites in Washington DC.

Yellowstone National Park Photographic Adventure
July 15 - 22, 2011

Take a photographic adventure to Yellowstone - America's First National Park (with geothermal pools, geysers and abundant wildlife), including picturesque Yellowstone Falls, Grand Teton Mountains and Idaho's Craters of the Moon.

Crater Lake (Oregon) and Yosemite National Parks
July 24 - 31, 2011

Tour California and Oregon's volcanic and glacially-created mountain ranges, including Crater Lake (set in the cone of an ancient volcano, it is the deepest and one of the clearest lakes in the US), the Rogue River and spectacular Yosemite.

Traditions of New Mexico: Intertribal Ceremonial
August 7 - 14, 2011

Attend traditional events and visit historic sites in New Mexico, including the annual Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial, Feast of San Lorenzo (a 300 year old tradition), Santa Fe, Taos, Museum of New Mexico, El Malpais, El Morro and Acoma Pueblo.

New York City Immigrant Gateway Tour
September 1 - 5, 2011

Visit historic Manhattan communities, modern immigrant communities in Queens, Ellis Island and attend the West Indian Day celebration in Brooklyn. Walk the eclectic districts of Union Square and Times Square and travel by subways and ferries.

Colorado Plateau Fall Photographic Adventure
September 24 - October 2, 2011

Hike and photograph in scenic national parks across southern Utah's Colorado Plateau, including Arches, Capital Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Travel across dramatic Boulder Mountain, Escalante/Grand Staircase, and the lower Rocky Mountains.
 
$765; air travel optional to/from Albuquerque


Southeastern Archaeology Tour
November 19 - 27, 2011

Visit southeastern US archaeological sites, including Poverty Point, Emerald Mound, Crystal River, Lake Jackson Mounds and more. Tour colonial sites, including Castillo De San Marcos (St. Augustine, FL), New Orleans and the Natchez Trace.
 
$750; no air travel option


Dates and prices subject to change. Cost includes ground transportation, hotel (double occupancy) and admissions to scheduled activities and non-optional parks and museums. Cost does not include meals and optional admissions or photo permits (which may be required on Native American and private sites). Group sizes are small and space is limited. Reservation dates will be posted and are generally 45-60 days prior to travel. Planned itineraries and additional details about each trip will be available.
