November 3 Return to Houston

Since we hadn't checked in until around 2:00am, we were slow to stir in the morning. I finally looked outside around 9:30am and discovered the landscape blanketed with snow. Desert cacti dangled tiny ice sickles. Thankful we had not camped in the surprise snowstorm, we warmed up with hot chocolat in the motel restaurant until the roads cleared enough for us to return to Houston. We stopped again, outside of San Antonio, for burgers and shakes. MORE INFO
