Bringing Cultural and Educational Events to Houston Audiences

Organizing cultural and educational events has brought the Houston Institute from the virtual world to real life, giving us an interpersonal public forum for our mission.

Our sponsorship of local and international artists in public venues throughout the city is one of our important goals. As the Austin-based organization Texas Folklife Resources sponsors Texas cultural performances around the state, we intend to promote improved cultural understanding with educational performances throughout Houston's diverse communities.

The demonstration of classical Indian dance by Namita Bodaji from Bombay set the standard for the quality of cultural practitioners we will present to the public. Her performance featured excellent renditions of the centuries-old devotional fine arts of India and provided the audience with informative narration.

Our initial efforts to build our organization on the Internet will remain in our goals, as the Internet will continue to be a major influence in the modern information world.
