MISSION
Houston Institute for Culture is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural education and awareness through cultural activities. Our goal is to provide free and low-cost events, services and classes for the community. The organization's sphere of interest is Houston, the regions that have affected Houston's cultural history and the international origins of Houston's diverse population.
FUNCTIONS
Promote opportunities for cultural awareness and education.
Organize cultural arts and education events.
Organize conferences and forums on cultural and social topics.
Operate Camp Dos Cabezas, an educational youth camp for at-risk children.
Provide support and assistance to community organizations' programs.
Organize educational travel for students and budget-minded individuals.
Document cultural traditions and community issues.
Create radio and other media-based cultural education programs.

Culture: The integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief and behavior that depends upon humankind's capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations.
