Description
Stagewright is a Houston-based nonprofit corporation dedicated to fostering youth development in the fine arts. Our goal is to create environments in which youth work with mentors to learn the art of writing, stagecraft and performance through the creation of their own dramatic productions.
Events and
Traditions
We hold an 8-week-long theater workshop on Saturdays every summer, in which youth work with mentors to create their own play from start to finish. At the end of the summer, they perform their play for family, friends and supporters. We also host periodic one-day workshops throughout the year, and conduct an annual youth playwriting contest. All of Stagewright's programs are free of charge to youth.
