The Museum of Cultural Arts, Houston (MOCAH) was founded in November 1999. The evolution of the MOCAH Movement began from the vision of the founders to create an arts institution without walls, an organization that will go to the people who are unable to come to MOCAH. Only minutes from downtown, MOCAH's headquarters is based in the heart of Fifth Ward, one of Houston's oldest African Amercan neighborhoods and a drastically underserved community. MOCAH's creative presence features a variety of programs and services including; Art Residencies in The Schools (ARTS) Art Angels Healing Arts Program and the ArtworkZ Public Art Program.
MOCAH's mission is to provide the public with art related programs, services, products, events, and activities, which enhance creative awareness, social health, and education through the use of cultural arts.
