Description	The Chopin Society of Houston, a non-profit organization, was established at the beginning of the year 2000, after a very successful Chopin Youth Competition, organized to honor the 150th anniversary of Chopin's death. As UNESCO proclaimed 1999 year of Chopin, around 20 of HoustonŐs piano teachers filled their studios with the unsurpassed beauty of ChopinŐs music, teaching and preparing ninety students for the anniversary performances. The organizing committee, consisting of musicians and music lovers, decided that our work cannot end with that success but should continue as long as there is need for ChopinŐs music in the Houston community and the means to support such an idea.
